How Do I Become a Certified Pool Operator?

How Do I Become a Certified Pool Operator?

Congratulations on beginning your journey to getting your CPO Certification! There are a ton of voices online giving a ton of conflicting messages about how to become a Certified Pool Operator, but don't worry, we'll answer all the questions you may have about the process in this one article. In this article we'll cover:

  • Choosing the right CPO Certification Company for your needs
  • Course options when getting your CPO Certification
  • Steps for completing the the CPO Certification program
  • Signing up for a CPO Course

How Do I Choose The Right CPO Certification Company?

Avoid "knock-off" Swimming Pool Certifications

When it comes to getting your CPO Certification education, not all companies are created equal. You'll want to first check to make sure the company you're working with is offering the official Certified Pool Operator Certification and not something that sounds similar. There are companies out there who have named their competing certification program something extremely similar to Certified Pool Operator in order to get your business. These competitors though, may not be recognized in your state or county.

Pool Training Academy only offers official CPO Certification courses that are fully approved by the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance and is valid in all 50 states throughout the United States.

Avoid Sales Pitches

The last thing you want is to sign up for an educational course, only for it to turn into a full-blown sales pitch, where you feel pressured to buy materials or services from the CPO instructor. Oftentimes these materials or services may not even be needed!

At Pool Training Academy our business is your education. We don't sell ANY products or services, so you can rest assured that during your CPO Certification process you will only be getting the highest quality education from us and nothing else.

Should I Choose Online CPO Certification or An In-Person CPO Class?

Choosing which route you take to get your CPO Certification is totally up to you! At Pool Training Academy we offer a variety of ways for you to get certified. Our most popular are as follows:

Fully Online CPO Certification

Our fully online CPO Certification is for people who prefer a more flexible, self-paced experience, without sacrificing the personal interaction that comes from a traditional in-person class. The online CPO program is simple:

  1. You choose your exam date
  2. You watch a series of self-paced videos
  3. You join your instructor for a Zoom Classroom session where they will cover the remaining material you need to be successful out in the field and on the exam.

Once you pass the exam at the end of the Zoom session, you will be CPO certified!

In-Person CPO Certification

Our In-Person CPO Certification classes are designed for folks who prefer a traditional classroom setting. The Process is simple:

  1. Choose your Class date and location
  2. Show up and engage in a 2-day course
  3. Take the exam at the end of the second day

Once you pass the exam at the end of the second day, you will be CPO Certified!
